7 months since last post

Well furiends, there has been much happening in the Tubby household (notice how I made it my own? That's bc I'm queen!) Mom and dad got married in August and left Maya and I for a week, although mom's grandfather and his lady furiend came over to watch us. Everything went well except Maya had a patch of fur on her paw that was losing hair. Mom and dad did not think anything was wrong (although as mom looks back, she wishes she had taken this into consideration more). Mom noticed Maya was not doing well and decided that she needed to be taken to the vet. Mom and dad could never have imagined all that happened from there. Maya had a bacteria infection (which was found possibly too late). The vet (who is a nice lady) gave Maya a shot that was supposed to help with the infection, but it did not. Mom took Maya back to the vet 2 weeks later so she could be rechecked. The vet wanted to do more tests, but felt that they could wait a while. Mom brought Maya home and decided to go grocery shopping. When mom came back, she found Maya on the floor and not moving. Mom started crying and called the vet who told her to bring Maya back right away. So mom did, they ended up sending Maya to the emergency vet. Maya had a blood transfusion and numerous other things done. Mom and dad were unable to completely afford the bills, so mom's parent's helped mom out (although she payed them back right away). They brought Maya home after she spent 3 days in the hospital. Mom knew that she would not hold on much longer and was unable to spend the last night with Maya. Dad woke up at 5am, just in time to hold Maya as she passed on to Rainbow Bridge. It was a very difficult time for mom and dad, and thankfully mom's grandfather came to the house to take Maya to the vet so she could be cremated. Everyone at the vets was very sad, and our vet even cried and gave mom a huge hug when she saw her next time. While I did not always get along with Maya, I was a bit sad, but I was more there for mom and dad, gave them lots of cuddles, and even tried my hardest to get along with the new kitty mom and dad had brought home shortly before Maya passed away.

New cat #1: Tiny

Tiny is a Maine Coon cat that mom and dad adopted at the Humane Leauge in Lancaster, PA. They went to look at cats but dad told mom that she was absolutely not getting a new cat. Well mom stuck to that, but dad did not. He saw Tiny and fell in love with him instantly. Tiny was in bad shape regarding his fur and was scared of humans. Oh and for your info, Tiny is not tiny, he is a big fluff ball of muscle and annoyance. He and I get along better then Maya and I did, but still he does not respect my space and takes all my food! (although he doesn't eat hard food, so I don't have to keep him from eating that)

Well during this time of all the change, mom and dad also decided that they did not want to live in an apartment anymore and bought a house. AND WE HAVE A CAT ROOM! Oh a room that is solely OUR room! My parents can be cool sometimes I suppose, esp when they give me my treats...hint hint mom I want treats *brief intermission*

Ok I am back, got me some yummy Whiska's. Well in the last 2 weeks mom and dad adopted another kitty (and are going to become foster parents for cats as well) from an organization called Itty Bitty Kitty in Allentown, PA (if you want a cat and live in the eastern area of PA, check it out! And maybe you'll meet me!)

New cat # 2: Memphis

Memphis is a Maine Coon mix. Mom and dad saw him at a PetSmart in the area and mom fell in love with him (and knowing dad's love of Maine Coon's, she promptly showed Memphis to him). Well I am still getting to know Memphis, quite a lot of hissing has been going on. Tiny has gotten used to him more, although Memphis loves to play (and he is a bit younger then us so has more activity in him). Tiny is not quite used to that, so he will hiss sometimes, as well as Memphis loves to snuggle with us, and neither of us are ok with that yet. ESPECIALLY ME! Mom said she will allow me to use her camera soon so I can post some pictures (wouldn't this be easier if she just bought me my OWN camera??)

Well all, my paws are getting tired. I will update more often I suppose, as well as I get a few treats. Good night all, on to nap number 10 of the day.

Update

So apparently my busy kitty life has kept me from updating this blog. Mom and dad have been putting the finishing touches on the wedding, so mom has not been around alot to spoil me. Maya and I have been "getting" along, which basically means we have not been swiping at each other EXCEPT for when she tries to take my window seat. Why does she insist on taking my window seat, obviously it is mine, there are marks on it from me, she needs to get away from it. Mom and dad have also been talking about getting us a playmate. They saw a Maine Coon kitty on the Humane League of Lancaster County website. They came to the conclusion that at this point they would be unable to give the adequate love and attention to a new kitty. Which is just fine with me because I demand the majority of the attention. ON a separate note, dad has been sick. I feel as though he thinks the end of the world is coming....he complains and whines, and takes over the spots that I want to sleep in, so then I have to look at him until he moves. We need designated seats for humans, which should consist of the floors. Father's day was also recently, Maya and I got enough money up to get dad Father's Day Cupcakes. He liked them. Well I figure once something more interesting happens, I will post another blog, but until then...mom...dad...get me a kitty condo

Kitty Tails :-)

The last few days have been way more active and disturbing of my sleep then I would have liked. Mommy and Daddy got their new car, they go some hybrid thing that is supposed to save the world. Who knows maybe it will, but before that how about you put some fresh litter in the litter box so I can play with it? No new pet taxi came with the purchase of this car, which right now I am okay with bc if she had gotten a new pet taxi it would mean a trip to the vet.

I have been enjoying this nice weather that we had been having on the east coast, and mainly spent my days basking in the sunlight of the open window and enjoying the air on my face...until other creature decided she wanted to enjoy the breeze as well. We ended up having a small tiff. This would all end if the other creature did not insist on constantly being near me. I mean there are OTHER windowsills for her to occupy her time with (but of course if I want to get into the windowsills she must vacate them immediately.) Maybe one day she will understand that I am a busy big boned cat that just does not have time to deal with her, until then mom I would like some cat scratching boards with lots of cat nip in them.

Cat times

Today was an upsetting day...I had zero attention...not even a belly rub before my mid afternoon/evening nap time. It was quite sad, but also gave me time to reflect upon my housemates and how to get rid of the other creatures. I have yet to come up with a fool proof plan, but what I have been thinking kind of goes along these lines...force open the screen in the window and then go after the other creature that eats my food and force her outside...although then I would want to go outside to chase after the squirrels. So maybe that won't work? I'll have to keep reworking my plans! Enjoy your weekend kitty friends!

Some questions

So before I go into my common questions, I just want to say HI and *purr* to all my followers. Once I figure out how to follow you back I will!

My questions today, are some concerns as well, such as why is there no wet food in my bowl, why is the other creature trying to snuggle up to my mommy, why do I not have a better kitty bed then the queen size bed my parents sleep in, and most importantly at this moment, why is my windowsill wet?? I don't like to be wet, as my parents can agree when it comes to bath time I meow and hiss like a pro. Wet windowsills are uncomfortable and cause me to clean myself more then I would wish to at this time. I do not approve of the wet windowsill, and my mother has made it a point to ignore my protests of her not cleaning my wet windowsill. Hell mom I am the queen and we should follow what I say! Also with the bowl not having any wet food in it...get to that!

Although I hear my mommy going into the pantry which means some sort of food for me...and she just got out treats and cat nip!

All my followers, I hope you have a wonderful day, and we all say hello, meow, nose tap, and purr to you! My next blog will have some meaning to it!

The Family

So being a typing cat, and one who loves technology, I figured it was time to explain a bit about me and my family members. And then update everyone on the going's on of a cat's life.

I am Raven...better known as Tubby, Tubsy, Tubs tubs, or fat cat. I am a big boned, sometimes nice, always demanding attention, normally sitting in the window kitty. My mommy rescued me from the Humane League in Lancaster, PA a little bit over a year ago. I was a mess when she got me, but she decided that I needed a good home with loving parents. I think I got pretty lucky, except when the baths come. I have to get a bath once or twice a week bc I am unable to clean myself bc of my large and beautiful body. I am an extremely spoiled kitty.

Then there is Maya. She is the other creature I speak of in my tweets. She is my one year old sister who thinks that she can take over my window sill, which is not a possibility for her. Mommy and Daddy got her off of craigslist when someone decided they no longer want her. She seems to have a few buttons unscrewed in her head...I have to say this because she is my sister. She likes to suck up to mommy, but I hope mommy sees right through that.

My mommy has another kitty that I have only met once, and when I did we hissed. Her name is Alessa. Alessa is a spoiled brat who loves the outside (something I can only see from my windowsill, hmph.) She is a torti who has a mind of her own and apparently does not like to follow any rules. Mommy and Daddy don't let her come over though, bc she thinks she is too good for other cats...and I say good bc this house is my domain.

Last but not least in the tweets, I talk about this little creature, the hamster. She is the newest pet in this family. Her name is Zoe, and I wish she would go back to where they got her....seriously...

We also have 20 fish...they're ok I suppose, Other creature likes to "play" with them, then daddy yells at her and I am happy.

Then there is mommy and daddy. They're ok when they feed me my treats and wet food. I am not happy when they do not come home directly to me and decide to do side trips. I am the queen! But they're good mommy and daddy. Ok, that's all for now, my paws are tired. I'll talk more about what an amazing cat I am at a later date...
